Thursday Sightings

I never made it out of bed yesterday morning for a run, so the choice this morning was run mellow or run hills. And since I really want to get in my long run tomorrow, I chose mellow. I'll run a hilly long run and call it a hill workout :-) That counts, right?! So up and out this morning for a 5 mile run down to the river and back. Cool but very damp. Saw two snowshoe hares out near the vernal pool - always a fun sighting.

Then it was off to Portland for a very dry and rather dull training on a long and complex federal reporting form. And they did not provide coffee. The nerve! Sigh. It was a rather long three hours.

Luckily, the afternoon held more promise, and it certainly made up for the morning! Sam and I headed out to Harpswell where Kristen's dad was renting a house for two weeks. They had nicely invited us out for a visit and Sam was so excited to see her friend Anne. They really are adorable together :-) There was swimming in the saltwater pool, time spent dipping toes in the tidal pool and picking up hermit crabs and green crabs, coloring fun, berry picking, pizza making, and a beautiful setting and great friends to hang out with. What a fun afternoon! Thanks guys for making us feel part of the family and letting us be part of your vacation :-)
