Ice Cream and Donuts

The other week, I made Sam a sensory tub, filling it with dried beans, sparkly pom-poms and colored beads, plus some "surprises" for her to find, like Christmas-themed erasers and a few little stamp rings from the Dollar Store. She's used it for a number of things - sorting, scooping, and most recently, for "cooking," ie. scooping bits and pieces out into some of her kitchenware and giving it to us as soup or ice cream or cake, etc. This morning, she was making ice cream soup for us, and decided she needed to make a bowl for Ronnie the cat. Ronnie was hanging around nearby, so she asked him "What flavor?" He, of course, did not answer, but darn it, she wanted his flavor, so she resorted to chasing him around the house screaming, "What flavor? What flavor?" He fled upstairs and she followed. We could hear her asking him over and over, "What flavor?", and finally heard her little footsteps as she padded back downstairs. She got back up at the table, looked at me and said, "I told him 'what flavor' and he didn't even meow at me. So I just came back downstairs." Ha. Hysterical!
There was no running this morning by either Ryan or I, but we continued our typical 'before Mama goes to work' Saturday morning tradition nonetheless. Oh yes, we are regulars at Frosty's these days. They know Sam by name :-) But hey, don't judge. These are darn good donuts :-)

Ah yes, the sensory tub...I made the mistake of putting dried rice in mine. That would be in the bad glitter and moon sand category.
