Long Weekend in Acadia: Friday & Saturday

*admin note: long post with so many photos, I had to split it into two posts! 😉

Friday:

We headed up to Acadia around 9:00 am, arriving in time for lunch and a flight of beers at Atlantic Brewing and ice cream at Ben & Bill's in Bar Harbor.

Starting the weekend off right 🍻

Trying to get Sam to smile ;)

Being touristy with Sam determined not to smile

Then it was off for a short hike to stretch our legs before setting up camp. We explored two new-to-us trails off the beaten path - Hunter's Beach Trail and Hunter's Cliff Trail. It was a gorgeous afternoon, and fun to explore these two short trails complete with a rocky beach, some cliff walking and a nice walk through the woods. We made it a loop by returning via a short road walk. (1.4 miles walked)

Then it was off to set up camp and settle in by the fire!

Life is good!

Saturday morning we woke up early enough to head to Two Cats for a big breakfast before tackling our hike for the day. I didn't get the requisite photo of the delicious biscuit with a cup of coffee but please be assured that both of those two things were consumed 😋😊

Sam having fun with Wiki Sticks!

Our stomachs filled with delicious breakfast, we headed over to Jordan Pond to start our hike. We did a great loop along the Jordan Cliff Trail, up the East Cliffs Trail to Sargent Mountain, down the Sargent South Ridge trail to Penobscot and then along the Penobscot Mountain Trail back to the pond. It was another glorious day, with not a cloud in the sky, nice temps, a good breeze, and we had a great time. Sam was a great hiker all day long and it was such fun to show her some of these glorious mountains! (5.8 miles hiked)

Always such a pretty view

We finished up the day with our traditional seafood dinner at Beal's and then enjoyed some time around the fire. A great day!
