A Bit of Recovery

Ah, nothing like the terrible sleep I always get after a long effort! You're so tired but then you just toss and turn all night. 😴 Sigh. Still, decided it might do my legs some good to get out for a short run on Saturday morning, so headed out around 9:00 am for a mellow run along the powerlines. Legs were a bit tired and creaky but loosened up nicely. It was cool, damp and misty, with low hanging clouds, but the colors were popping. Really pretty, and ended up feeling fairly decent. (5.4 miles)

Then after lunch it was down to Harpswell to meet up with my parents for a walk at Curtis Farm Preserve. A neat piece of property with the trail wandering through field, woods and down to the ocean's edge. Must admit though that by the end of the walk, I was definitely feeling a bit droopy, but still, it was good to get out and enjoy the trails together. (2.5 miles walked)

Then it was back to my parent's VBRO for dinner and out for an ice cream to wrap up a nice day!

Slept a bit better last night and with no running on the agenda for the morning, wasn't in a rush to do anything and had a leisurely start to the day. After lunch, the three of us headed down to Freeport for a walk around Florida Lake. It was another misty, low cloud kind of day, but the foliage was looking quite lovely - the maples especially! So colorful, and it was nice to get out for a family meander to wrap up the weekend! (2.6 miles walked)
