Messy

It was a rather messy weather week this week. And as for the mess that is our country at the moment, just don't even get me started...

Couldn’t quite get myself out into the slushy, sloppy, snowy iciness for a run on Tuesday morning but knew I’d be happier with a bit of movement so took a walk around the school block instead. And a 5:00 meeting and a full day in the office meant no chance for an afternoon run. 🤷‍♀️(2.1 miles walked)

But it did turn out to be a lovely morning on Wednedsay for a run, not to mention late start meant it was almost light when I headed out at 6:20. Ran a road loop across the river and enjoyed the pretty sky. (6.7 miles)

Thursday was a late afternoon run on the cart paths. Windy and very squishy underfoot. Had to go off path between two holes where they are going some construction, but hopefully they’ll get it back in shape soon enough. Also first groundhog sighting of the season out back! They've opened back up their den 😍 (6.0 miles)

Friday was blustery. Ran the cart paths plus a bit in reverse after dropping Sam at school and then headed off to get my errands and appointments done.  Two bluebirds and one downy woodpecker seen. Managed to get through the construction area a bit easier today. (7.3 miles)

Snow in the early morning hours into Saturday, so did not rush out the door. Finally headed out around 2:30 pm to run roads over in Highland Green. Roads were mostly bare, just wet, with slushy/snowy sidewalks and back dirt road. Low energy so kept it shorter than I was originally hoping for. In other news, there is some spring organization afoot in the house, so that took up a bit of time and energy early in the day. Ryan is working on rearranging the loft where he has his office, and with that we moved the extra full size bed that was up there down into Sam's room so she has a bit more space. (7.0 miles)

Knew my procrastination and low miles on Saturday meant that I'd be up against some weather on Sunday but it is what it is. Headed out around 8:15 am for a road run out through the neighborhoods. A dreary, misty, kinda raining and rather uninspired morning run, just slowpoking along but got it done. (13.0 miles)

And with that, March is a wrap! Didn't quite hit the 500 mile mark for miles run for the quarter, but honestly not all too shabby when you factor in winter and weather and barely any runnable trails for the vast majority of these first few months of the year. I'll take it.

March:
178.32 run miles
11.30 walk miles
0.00 XC miles
3x weights

YTD:
484.50 run miles
34.64 walk miles
3.34 XC miles
11x weights
