As is my preference, Monday was a zero day annd Tuesday, after not having slept well, I just did not have the energy to get out for a run. However, knew I'd feel better with a bit of movement so got out for a walk around the block in the dreary semi-darkness before work. (2.5 miles walked)
Ran the cart paths Wednesday morning at 6:30 am once the sun came up. Cold and bright. Trailing arbutus is about to open, maybe if it weren’t 26 degrees out! (6.0 miles)
Thursday I went into work a bit late, as we had an event in the evening, so headed out at 7:00 am for a run around Highland Green in the cold rain. Blech. (6.0 miles)
Friday, I was headed to Portland for a work meeting at 9:30 and then had a work call at 1:00, so time was limited. Ran a mix of roads, powerlines and cart paths at 5:45 am. Trail shoes would have been a better choice than the road shoes I chose 😂 Damp. So many worms on the road and one cute spring peeper 🐸🤩 that I scooped up with a leaf to get off the pavement. Also hobblebush leaves starting to peek through. (6.0 miles)
Later in the afternoon after Sam and I did a bit of driving around town, I took a short walk as it was too nice to stay inside. Looped around on the powerlines so I could check to see if the trailing arbutus was in bloom but alas, not yet. (1.8 miles walked)
Saturday was a morning wander on the cart paths and powerlines. Dreary, overcast morning which kind of just mirrored how I felt, which was tired and creaky 🤪😂 (12.0 miles)
Emily and I were planning to meet up for a run on Sunday but it rained all morning on Sunday so we shifted to a 1:00 start time. The rain had stopped but it was rather goey and damp out. We ran the car paths and down to the river - lots of water out there - and Ryan met up with us for the final few miles. Fun to catch up with Emily before her trip out to Gorges Waterfall 100k! (7.5 miles)
