End of Summer

The last few weeks of August were busy.

Tuesday, I worked half a day from work, spending the rest of the day doing a few errands and after a bit of a gray, dreary morning, the afternoon was nice so I got out for a quick mid-afternoon walk around the school block (2.0 miles walked) before Sam and I headed down to Scarborough for her senior pictures.

After getting stuck in traffic, we met the photographer at Fuller Farm before heading to Ferry Beach for the rest of the shoot. Both were really pretty spots! It really was a lovely evening, and the photographer did a great job of keepings things relaxed. I tried to stay out of the way as much as I could, but did sneak in some of my own photos - can't believe it's senior picture time!

Wednesday, I had a meeting in town at 11:00 so I worked at home before that and snuck out a bit before 9:00 for a run on the Topsham Crossing lollypop. Low energy. (6.0 miles)

Sam was working the late shift at the Y but I met up with Mom, Dad and Kristen for pizza and a beer at Flight Deck as they were doing a fundraiser for work that evening. Yum!

Thursday was a late afternoon wander after work on the roads and along the edge of the Heath. Air was heavy and still. (6.0 miles)

Friday, I was up and out a little before 8:00 am for another run on the Topsham Crossing lollypop route. Nice, breezy morning. The viburnum is turning a lovely blush color out on the powerlines. (6.0 miles)

Then it was off to get a massage from Lauren and home for an 11:00 work call before getting some of my errands done after lunch.

Saturday I got out for a run along the powerlines a bit before 9:00 am. Nice morning if a bit humid. All the late summer asters and turtleheads are out. Still some blackberries to snack on. (10.0 miles)

Sunday morning, I headed out around 9:00 for a run down to the river and out and around town. Very heavy out, with a mist in the air and a whole lot of sweat going on! 💦😂 (12.0 miles)

Once I got back from my run and Sam got back from her in-service training up at the Y and we all had some lunch, Kristen and Cutter picked us up and we headed down to Yarmouth to hang out with the extended Raymond clan for the afternoon as Lillie was in town for a quick visit for a friend's wedding. Great to see her!

Monday was a walk around the school block after work with Ryan. (2.6 miles walked)

Wednesday I decided to pick up poke for dinner, so I brought my running clothes to work and went for a run on the bike path before grabbing dinner and heading home. Pretty afternoon, and I took the opportunity to take a few of the new side trails they've put in along the bike path. Unfortunately most of them are little-used and were a bit too overgrown to be enjoyable, but still fun to do a bit of exploration. (6.0 miles)

Thurday, Sam was up before the sun rose, which is not the typical (!!), as she was headed out to Stover's Point for Senior Sunrise 💗🌅 So cute!

As for me, it was a 4:00 pm run down to the river and back after work. Muggy out. Definitely late summer feels out on the powerlines with the aster, goldenrod and viburnum berries turning blushy pink. (6.0 miles)

Fridays have devolved into much more of a work day than in the past, and I'm always trying to get a few things crossed off the errands list too, so I didn't get out to run until 3:30 pm. Ran on the Topsham Crossing lollypop. Ladies tresses in bloom in the dip in the powerlines! (6.0 miles)

Then after a quick shower, Ryan and I headed into town for dinner at Enoteca. Dinner, as always, was delish, and always fun to finish up with a coffee martini and green cake 🍰🍸

Saturday was an afternoon run on the powerlines after getting some work and housework done in the morning. Oh yes, and picking up the first of the season pumpkin donuts from Frosty's too! 😋🍩 Nice bright and breezy out. Felt good in the shade but the sun is still warm. Then it was over to Mom and Dad's for dinner to wrap up the day. (8.0 miles)

Not feeling the best on Sunday morning, so ended up with just a short jaunt down to the river and back before spending the rest of the day reading and getting some work done on the couch. (6.0 miles)
