Tuesday was a 4:30 pm walk and talk around the school block with Ryan. (2.6 miles walked)
Wednesday was a 4:30 pm run on the roads after work. Tired 😴 (6.0 miles)
Thursday was a nice afternoon to be out running along the edge of the Heath in shorts at 4:00 pm. (6.1 miles)
Friday, I was out at 7:00 am to run along the cart paths+. A damp, misty, warm morning. Very pretty sky. (8.0 miles)
Then it was home to get a few things done before we packed the car up and headed up to Bar Harbor for the weekend as a late anniversary get-away. We stopped downtown for lunch and then drove over to Hunters Beach for a walk down to the ocean's edge, where the water was melodiously lapping over the round stones that ring the beach, and then up along the cliffs and through the forest for a nice loop. Had the beach and trail all to ourselves. Lovely, warm afternoon with a breeze that had a bit of a bite just to ensure we knew it was October. Love the red blueberry bushes. (1.55 miles walked)
Saturday, I was up and out at 6:45 am, running through the quiet main street and then back along the shore path so I could take in the sunrise along the water. Cold, bright and windy, and a beatiful morning. From there I ran up and out towards the park, along Strateden Path up to the Tarn and then back on Jessup Path and through the meadow. Did a loop on the Compass Harbor Trail before heading back into town. Saw 5 deer including a beautiful big buck. Lovely views as always. (9.2 miles)
It was too late for a real lunch, so we stopped at Atlantic Brewing for a beer and a snack, and then went back to the hotel to relax for a bit before dinner at Havana, which is always a treat! 😋
Sunday was another 6:45 am run although with daylight savings, I missed the sunrise. Another bright, crisp, breezy morning. Ran along the shore path just to take in the view, then up the road to hop onto the carriage paths and loop around Witch Hole. Then on the way back into town, I headed out on the sand bar towards Bar Island - many people out there despite the early morning hour - and finished up along the shore path. Never tire of those ocean views. Thoughts for the morning - The deer there are not scared. I am not in shape for any hills. And it, as always, beautiful up there. (10.8 miles)
