Gearing up for Vacation

It's been a busy week with work with two evening events, Sam having some lifeguarding shifts up at the Y and just in general trying to get organized to go on vacation! I am super excited but also feeling slightly crazed trying to get things done!

Tuesday it was a 6:00 am walk around the school block. Just a bit of movement before a long work day starting with a 7:30am meeting and ending with a 7:00 event. Foggy and muggy. (2.0 miles walked)

Wednesday, I took Sam up the Y for morning swim practice, and headed out for a run on the roads and along the edge of the Heath before doing so. Very sweaty! 💦🥵 Two turkeys with five little poulets - so cute! (6.0 miles)

Thursday, I dropped Sam at the Y for her lifeguard shift at 4:00 pm and headed out for a run from there on the roads down to the point where the Whiskeag crosses. Always a pretty view. Had pretty heavy legs and a bit of rain to start and then very heavy air to follow. (6.0 miles)

Friday, I ran out on the powerlines at 7:00 am. Breezy and less humid, which was lovely! (6.1 miles)

Then it was onto a massage with Lauren, errands and some work before dinner, after which Ryan and I took a walk around the school block. Nice out. (2.6 miles walked)

Saturday, Sam had a lifeguard shift from 7:00-12:00, so I dropped her off and then drove down to park at Bowdoin to do a run out through the Commons to Simpson's Point. Haven't been out that way in a while, and it was a beautiful morning for it, relatively dry and cool. Bobolinks, goldfinch, swallows and red winged blackbirds flitting out in the fields. Lovely. (10.0 miles)

Later in the afternoon, Sam and Abby headed out to the Point to spend the night with Anne, and Ryan and I headed into town for a beer at Moderation and dinner with Emily. It was fun to catch up with her, and looks like it was a beautiful night out on the coast for the girls!

This morning, my stomach was feeling a bit off and I needed to get both some work and some home computer work done, so I did that and figured I would just run later in the afternoon. Meanwhile, the girls were enjoying the pool and the sunshine down at the Point!

And me, well, let's just say that this morning's procrastination meant that the afternoon run on the roads, cart paths and along the Heath was done at 2:30 pm in a crazy downpour, with lightening and booming thunder  😱😫🤦🏼‍♀️ Only slightly harrowing and I was SOAKED at the end and running through ankle-deep puddles that had materialized over the course of only 30 min or so!! Silly Sparkplug! 🤪 (6.0 miles)
