Monday was a holiday. Sam was down in Old Orchard Beach, and Ryan headed to York to meet up with Neal for a round of golf, so I headed over to the Commons for a ladyslipper run. A nice mellow, slightly creaky, photo-heavy run with 186 ladyslippers seen. Very lovely afternoon, with bright blue skies and sunshine (finally!), although the second you stopped the mosquitos were there. Gotta love it! (8.0 miles)
Spent the rest of the day on the couch reading and getting some work done. Nice to have a quiet, relaxing day.
Tuesday was an early morning school walk, just to get some movement before a long work day. (2.0 miles walked)
Wednesday was a late afternoon road and powerlines lollypop loop. Temps were in the 70s - whew! Toasty! And tired... (6.0 miles)
Thursday and Friday were tired, low energy days with a colonoscopy on Friday morning. Oh the joys... Apparently my lovely body thinks it is nice to grow sessile polyps so I have to go back more regularly than most... sigh...
Saturday was a 3:00 pm run after the rain stopped. Seriously, are we going to ever have a Saturday without rain? I swear it has been raining every Saturday since March - gah! First 3 miles with Ryan and second 3 solo. Nice to have company for part of the run! Muggy and overcast. Itis are blooming out front, one ladyslipper blooming along the Powerlines and the air thick with the sweet smell of honeysuckle. (6.1 miles)
Still feeling a bit tired this morning, so kept it mellow and headed out around 9:30 to run up to the bottom of the Heath. Muggy and breezy. (6.0 miles)
Sam and I have been working on her driving hours, and mom got this picture of us headed home after this afternooon's walk 😊
And the bird buddy feeder has been busy out back, with the bluebird pair returning this week for some visits!
Hard to believe it is almost June! And with that, here's the May wrap up.
