Headlamp Season

Shorter days are upon us now in earnest, with late sunrises and darkness by 7:00 pm. It means it's time for the headlamp to come out for the morning runs now!

Ryan was away all week, so Tuesday evening's 5:00 pm walk was a solo one. A slight drizzle in the air, and one baby red eft rescued from the pavement. (2.6 miles walked)

Wednesday was a 6:20 am run on the cart paths in reverse. A bit damp and humid, but a pretty morning with a lovely sky and five deer seen. (6.0 miles)

My Thursday 4:30 pm run was done in the pouring rain. One frog, one deer and many, many puddles both on the pavement and on the cart paths. (6.0 miles)

Had a massage with Lauren at 9:00 on Friday and wanted to get a run in beforehand, so was up and out with the headlamp on at 5:40 am. Ran the Highland Green loop. The amphibians were out this morning keeping me company. Warm, damp and heavy. (6.0 miles)

Then after doing some errands and getting some work done, I picked up Sam and brought her up to the Y for her last lifeguard shift before swim season starts. While I was up there, I headed out for a walk around the Bath block. (2.0 miles walked)

Headed out around 9:30 for a run on the powerlines. Nice morning. The trees are turning but not a lot of brilliant color with the drought. (9.0 miles)

Headed out around the same time on Sunday. Definitely warmed up while I was out there and I most definitely did not bring enough water! Wandered down along the Cathance and looped out along the powerlines for a nice morning half. (13.1 miles)
