We packed up in the morning and after Ryan got in a run up the mountainside, we headed out around 11:00 towards Reno. We headed out through Tahoe City to Incline Village, oohhing and aahhing over the views of Lake Tahoe, and stopped for a yummy lunch before continuing on to Sand Harbor, which Kris had recommended as a good spot to get down on the beach. Unfortunately, it seemed that a lot of others had the same idea and all the lots were full 😔 We could tell it was a gorgeous spot with turquoise waters, a nice sand beach and some cool rock formations near the water but alas, it was not meant to be.
So it was on to Mt. Rose Highway, where we stopped at Tahoe Meadows for a hike. A neat alpine meadow, filled with blooming wildflowers, a flowing river, a neat boardwalk, and pretty views up into the snow-covered mountains. A good place for a mellow walk before continuing the rest of the drive into Reno. (1.6 miles walked)

Hard to believe vacation is almost over, with Thursday being a full-on travel day with not much to see other than the inside of a plane or airport. This trip, from the race to the post-race exploration, has truly been a most wonderful adventure! So grateful 💕
