Summertime!: Week #7 - Part 1 - 6, 7, 8

Holy moly, was it hot at the start of this week! I really could do without any more "feels like 97" degree days! Whew! 💦💦

Monday: Since we spent Sunday inside, I figured Sam and I should get out for at least a short walk in the afternoon. Plus, all I'd been doing was sitting at my computer and needed some movement! But woohee, it was roasty toasty. So hot! At least there were some sweet, warm blackberries to pick along the way. (1.7 miles walked)

I love these cotton sedges in the boggy area along the powerlines

Tuesday: 75 degrees at 5:30 am is way too hot! So heavy 💦😫 Ran the cart paths and finished bathed in sweat. Not going to say it was pleasant, but it is what it is... Pretty sky, at least, and a few handfuls of blackberries to eat en-route, plus one young porcupine, one deer and way too many deer flies seen! (6.1 miles)

Too hot for a walk. Gah!

Wednesday: Depending on which temperature gauge you trust, it was 7 to 10 degrees cooler at 5:30 am. Woohoo. OK, so still hot and humid but much more manageable. Headed out on the powerlines for the Lover's Lane loop. Some good blackberry and raspberry picking! Kept it nice and easy. (7.0 miles)

The rest of the day was spent working and then racing around the house packing and getting organized for our camping trip.

Thursday (part 1): Out early for a run on the roads around town before we headed north for our camping trip. Pretty morning, but so soggy! 💦💦 (8.0 miles)
