Since our first FastPass (ie skip the long line for another line, albeit shorter) wasn't until 10:00 am and Magic Kingdom was just a short monorail ride away, Ryan and I got up and headed out for a run to start the day. There was a "running route" from the hotel that was essentially loops around both the Contemporary Resort and Bay Lake Towers. Hurray for circles on concrete! There were some nice views of Bay Lake, however, and we saw several turkey vultures sunning themselves lakeside, as well as egrets and a few little anoles flitting about. The "loop" was only approximately 0.89 miles though, so it got old pretty fast, not to mention it was pretty darn hot. All in all, quite "magical" 😂😂 (5.0 miles)
Then it was off to Magic Kingdom for a day of fun! We hit some of the classic rides like It's a Small World, Haunted Mansion, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Pirates of the Caribbean plus a few others including a neat experience with Belle and a fun character buffet for lunch at the Crystal Palace. Sam had a blast! She really is the perfect age for this sort of experience - old enough to have the stamina for the full days and still with enough kid magic to be truly in awe of it all 😍
I couldn't resist tracking our journey, and Strava captured 6.1 miles in 7 hours before it died. Then of course, we walked some more 😅😆 Mileage includes rides as well, but we definitely got in our fair share of walking! Rides, crowds and heat aren't really my thing, so I will say the day was fairly exhausting but it was great to all be there together, and fun to see the kids really enjoying it! 💗
