Mid-September

Busy work week with two evening meetings, our annual meeting on Tuesday which didn't meant i didn't get home until 8:00 pm and the auditors in the office Wednesday through Friday, plus Ryan was away the first few days of the week. Whew. Monday was a planned zero day but Tuesday I just got overwhelmed, so didn't manage to start my running week until Wednesday. ðŸĪŠðŸ˜‚ðŸĪĶ🏞‍♀️ðŸĪ·‍♀️

Headed out a little after 6:00 am for a run on the carth paths. Misty morning with eight deer and four turkey seen. (6.0 miles)

Thursday was an afternoon run down to the river and back. Warm and day. (6.0 miles)

Friday was another afternoon run after I left the office once the auditors were done. Ran a road loop. Tired. Pretty much all I could manage. (6.0 miles)

It was Homecoming weekend so after Sam worked her shift up at the Y, she headed to the game and had fun with her friends. The theme was blackout, which I think they all pulled off quite well and very cutely too 😊

Saturday, I got out around 10:15 for a run on the powerlines. Lovely morning - bright and cool. (9.0 miles)

The Homecoming dance was in the evening, and Jennifer had very sweetly offered to have them stay at one of the Bath hotels for the night so Sam headed out around 2:00 so they could check in, grab something to eat, get dressed and get some photos taken before the dance. Jennifer was like a professional photographers - such great photos 💗

Since Sam was gone for the evening, Ryan and I took a late afternoon walk around the school block (2.6 miles walked) and then headed downtown for dinner at Enoteca. Delish as always!

Finished up the week with an afternoon run out in the Cathance. Beautiful out! (8.0 miles)

Fall

After some very muggy, humid weather last week, the weather was lovely, crisp and feeling very fall-like!

Tuesday was a 5:40 am run along the edge of the Heath, with a headlamp needed in the first mile and first run in a while in longsleeves. Pretty sky and a low mist above the Heath. (6.0 miles)

Wednesday was a 5:30 pm walk and talk with Ryan around the school block. (2.6 miles walked)

Out at 5:40 am again on Thursday. Nice morning. (6.0 miles)

Friday, I was up and out at 6:45 to get in my run before getting some errands done and heading to work for a meeting and then home again for more work at the computer. Ran out on the powerlines. Lovely morning. There is that distinct fall XC smell in the air out there, like turning leaves and ferns and decaying leaf matter. One of the best smells. (8.1 miles)

Saturday I had a work event to attend from 9:00 to 3:00 so I was up and out at 6:45 for a run. Not quite as early as I would have liked so had to cut it a few miles short, but still glad to get out. (7.1 miles)

Then after I got home and before I settled down on the couch and didn't move for the rest of the afternoon, Ryan and I got out for a walk around the block. (2.6 miles walked)

Sunday, I headed over to Bradbury to volunteer at the Bruiser. A nice morning for racing, and always fun to see friends, cheer on the runners and catch up! Then it was home for a warm afternoon run out into the Cathance. Things are so dry out there, and the river is so low. Aie. (7.0 miles)

Sam had a lifeguard training and then Mom and Dad came over for dinner, and by the time they left, I was pooped and it was early to bed after a busy weekend!

11th Grade!

Monday was a holiday. However, I had a lot of work to get done that I needed to do, so while I didn't have a full day at the office or in front of the computer, I probably spent 5 hours working. In between, I relaxed on the couch, took a drive with Sam up to Applewald Farm to pick up some veggies and other farm stand goodies, and went for a walk around the school block before dinner. Had originally intended to run, but I was tired and in the end, a walk just felt right. (2.6 miles walked)

And so, it begins again.. my running week starting on a Wednesday 😆😝😜 Got out at 6:00am for a run along the edge of the Heath. Cool and humid out, with a low fog along the ground. One deer and two fawns seen. (6.0 miles)

Then it was the first day of school and 11th grade for Sam! Crazy that she is a junior!

Thursday was a bright afternoon run on the roads and powerlines. (6.0 miles)

Work and errands and just not getting out the door got the best of me on Friday and I didn't get out for a run until 4:00. Ran down to the river and back. It was like running through soup, so humid! ðŸ’Ķ(6.25 miles)

Saturday, I headed out around 8:00. Cool and humid. Not as oppressive as yesterday but still finished soaked ðŸ’Ķ Ran along the powerlines. One monarch caterpillar seen and that sweet autumn fading fern smell in the air. (9.25 miles)

Sunday, I headed out around 10:00 am in the rain for a run on the cart paths and down to the river. One red eft and three deer. (8.5 miles)

Then, before dinner and after the rain stopped, Ryan and I got out for a walk around the school block. The sun even came out for a bit! (2.6 miles walked)

End of August

Last week of summer (at least unofficially)!

Got out Tuesday afternoon for a short road loop, with a short stretch on the powerlines. Reasonably cool. Nice to not be sweaty immediately. Viburnum berries are turning blush colored. (6.0 miles)

Wednesday was an after dinner walk around the school walk with Ryan. Nice out. (2.6 miles walked)

Thursday, I got out at 5:30 am for a run along the edge of the Heath. Pretty morning with a pastel sky, low fog and six deer seen. (6.0 miles)

Friday, I got out mid morning for a run on the powerlines. Humid! (8.0 miles)

Then while Ryan and I were working, Sam headed out with Mom and Dad for some driving time and a fun lunch down at Five Islands. Yum, and a beautiful afternoon for it!

Ryan and I got out for an after dinner walk a little before 7:00 pm. Breezy but very humid. And boy it is that time of year when the light starts to fade fast earlier and earlier. (2.6 miles walked)

Saturday, I got some work done and a few things crossed off the home to-do list and then Sam and I headed down to Portland for her to get a third piercing in her ears as an early birthday present. Looks great! Then it was home for a late lunch and I finally got out for a run down into the Cathance around 3:30 pm. Of course, after being lovely all day, I got rained on out there. Classic 😆ðŸ’Ķ But then lovely as I wandered back on the powerlines. (8.0 miles)

Sunday was a 9:00 am wander out along the Heath, on the powerlines and out to the Androscoggin. Bright and warm in the sun, but cool in the shade. Just wandering along. Three deer and six turkey. (12.0 miles)
